The following photos submitted by Jim Stewart, Ph.D., P.E., with John P. Stopen Engineering, LLP of Syracuse, New York, illustrate a case where helical piles could be removed after they were used for temporary support of scaffolding and shoring towers for rehabilitation of an historic building on the Syracuse University Campus.  The helical piles were used as both tension/compression foundations.
